Sand

Sand is now the most mined resources in the world, with the extraction rate being the highest in Asia Pacific. India now, after China has created a boom for sand mining, fuelling illegal mining. It is the key ingredient for manufacturing concreate, roads and glass.

IGR has the capability to supply sand from sustainable mining practices. While IGR continues to supply sand from mining aggregates, river beds and beaches to meet the urban development requirement (there being no immediate cost effective bulk substitute), IGR is determined to source sand better and in environmentally friendly ecological ways.
Sand is deceptively abundant, but this basic ingredient for glass and concrete manufacturing cannot keep up with demand. As the commercial construction industry is booming in South-East Asia, so is the demand for sand, the primary material for construction. Given that most of what we build today is made of glass and concrete, sand is a fundamental resource for our economic development.

Cement

Portland cement type supplied buy IGR is based on the required performance of the concrete. In general, Portland cement is produced by heating sources of lime, iron, silica and alumina to clinkering temperature of up to 2,800 degrees Fahrenheit in a rotating kiln, then grinding the clinker to fine powder.

Approximately 30 – 35% of the cost of cement can be attributed to the cost of distribution, which begins at the gates of the cement facility. Movement of cement in bulk is less expensive than movement in small and jumbo bags, since the cost of bagging and debagging is eliminated. However, it is not always possible to move in bulk due to a variety of factors, ranging from geography to the culture of the country of manufacture and the country of use.
Ship movement of bulk cement is the lowest cost option in any scenario with a silo-to-silo flow process. IGR is also able to provide cement in bags – 50 kgs / 1 metric ton / 1.5 metric ton / 2 metric ton.

IGR has built solid foundations as a cement trader by nurturing relationships with its alliance partners – some of the largest and most reputable cement manufactures around the globe, giving IGR access to large cement manufacturing plants in key low cost producing regions, near bulk ports. Buyers benefit most from a cost perspective by taking cement supplies from IGR. We have created a strong network of supply from China, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Germany, France, Switzerland and Russia.

Gypsum

IGR has reached out to suppliers from low cost producing regions globally for Gypsum. IGR can provide both raw as well as gypsum boards for construction projects, cement manufacturing and fertilizers.

The mineral Gypsum precipitated some 100 to 200 million years ago when sea water evaporated. From a chemical point of view, it is Calcium Sulphate Dihydrate (CaSO4.2H2O) deposited in sedimentary layers on the sea bed. Under high pressure and temperature Gypsum turns into Anhydrite (CaSO4).

India and China are major consumers of Gypsum, used in cement manufacturing and construction. The real driver for growth in cement production lies in Asia, particularly in China and India, where construction and infrastructure are booming.

IGR sources gypsum from Oman, India & Thailand under the following generic specification
